It's time for Fix-It Friday again! This is our chance to see and read about how the I ♥ Faces contributors would 'fix' this photo and then we get a chance to do the same! Here is this week's before:
I still can't decide if I like this edit or not. There's something about it that I find interesting, but it's different than what I usually do. I looked up a cross-processing tutorial in my cs2 book a few weeks ago before editing a senior session. It's not a technique I usually use, but I thought something 'edgy' could be useful. I never did use it on any of the photos then, but I started really pushing around the curves when working with this photo and this is the result.

I started fresh after the curves bonanza and decided to add a slight blur and decrease the saturation. I adjusted the levels and that was it! The colors and look on her face remind me of the pure joy after a nice summer picnic and playtime at the park...she looks so happy!

The combination of pink and green is one of my favorites, so it almost felt wrong to even try black & white. I like it, but not as much as the color...which is not something I say very often!
Besides the change in colors, the main edit was only to rotate the photo and crop it. I also used the clone tool to add some of the sparkle from her right eye to the left. I sharpened the eyes a little and smoothed the skin slightly with the spot healing brush because it was nearly perfect as is...and that was it! I really liked the texture from the hair and grass around her face...it's just a really lovely photo!

I like the color one too!
I really like the colors on the second one!
I love your cross processing! Nice job. :)
What a gorgeous picture. Just lovely. You did an amazing job editing. She is such a cutie, isn't she?
I love the pretty pink one. It's wierd how when you try a new technique, sometimes it just turns out great. But then I always forget how I got there:)
love the second!
you made her eyes look great
I really like your black and white edit.
Great edits Jenny... Love the second one!!!

I like your black and white. I love that you cloned the eye.. I never thought of that, but I did wonder how I could have made that eye pop a little more. I'll have to remember to do that next time.
It's wonderful the soft color one is definitely a favorite. You wouldn't mind sending it to me would you? It's absolutely beautiful. hjtorbs@sbcglobal.net
I love the second edit. The soft colors and slight fuzziness reminds me of summer. Great job!
Just lovely! I especially like your first edit. Her eyes just pop right out of the photo. Beautiful!
I really like your edits, my favorites so far! The crop you gave this photo works really nicely to compliment her face!
